Customizing Templates

The form builder is used to create all Templates for all modules in your Incident Management account. You can use the form builder to add new sections and new fields to your templates. See the field types article when selecting the desired outcome of the field selected.

🔑 ACCESS LEVEL REQUIRED: Account Owner

⚠️ ATTENTION:

  1. Go to the Admin Area
  2. Expand Templates
  3. Select the orange Edit icon next to the template you want to update
  4. Scroll to the area on the template form you want to edit
    1. Click + Add Section to insert a new section into the form, which will be indicated by a black bar and line breaks
      1. To add a heading/title to the section, type it into the black bar. If left blank, the section will appear as a page break in your form.

  1. New fields can be added in any direction by clicking the orange + icon at the desired location
  2. To add hints to fields, click on Hint (Optional) and type in the hint
  3. Select the field type from the dropdown menu, which will determine the outcome when filling out the form within the incident channel
  4. Select the⠸ more options menu to link to the situation report form and/or lock field on items imported from collections
    1. To rearrange your form, use the cardinal arrow move icon to drag and drop fields. Hover over the blue space where you want to place the field, and release when it turns red
  5. Continue this process until you have added all of the desired sections and fields
  6. Click Save
  7. Select Ok to confirm change, or select Cancel to revert the change

⚠️ ATTENTION: Once a field type is selected and the template is saved, it cannot be changed. You’ll need to create a new field and remove the old one. Be sure to transfer any data from the old field to the new one in the incident Channel or Collections to prevent data loss and errors. Also, update Conditional Formatting, Item Status Expressions, Module Header Stats, or Dashboard Stats as needed.
